Agua y vulnerabilidad socioambiental
Abstract
El presente artículo ofrece un panorama global de la situación que guarda el agua en México así como sus tendencias para los próximos años, a partir de considerar una serie de factores que conllevan a un escenario de vulnerabilidad y pérdida de la seguridad hídrica. Los conceptos vulnerabilidad y seguridad hídrica están estrechamente relacionados: el primero mide el riesgo y el daño que los procesos biofísicos y sociales pueden causar a la población y a los ecosistemas; el segundo muestra la capacidad de una sociedad para satisfacer sus necesidades básicas de agua; la conservación y uso sostenible de los ecosistemas acuáticos y terrestres; la capacidad para producir alimentos —sin a tentar contra la calidad y cantidad de los recursos hídricos disponibles—; y los mecanismos y regulaciones sociales para reducir y manejar los conflictos o disputas por el agua.Those authors who have publications with this magazine accept the following terms:
