Abstract

La balanza comercial en el segundo semestre del año an­terior presentó déficit; sin embargo durante los primeros meses de ‘989 se modificó la tendencia. El saldo acumulado en 1988 fue inferior al de 1987, lo cual se debió principalmen­te a la baja en ios precios del petróleo (-26,8 por ciento) y al aumento considerable en las importaciones de bienes de uso intermedio, que representaron el 69.1 por ciento del total de compras al exterior. Las exportaciones no petroleras se in­crementaron 17.7 por ciento; y las manufactureras en espe­cial crecieron 18.2 por ciento, estas últimas fueron 85 por ciento mayores que las petroleras.
