IMPULSO A LA CIUDADES MEDIAS, INVERSIÓN EN INFRAESTRUCTURA
Abstract
Desde finales de los años setenta las ciudades medias han sido los centros seleccionados para implementar una estrategia de descentralización desarrollo regional. Se pretende, entre otros aspectos, concentrar en ellas, y en las regiones a las que pertenecen, mayor y mejor equipamiento urbano para satisfacer los requerimientos de su población actual y futura, especialmente en lo que se refiere a la dotación de agua potable, drenaje y alcantarillado, así como equipamiento en salud, educación y cultura.La inversión en infraestructura se puede distinguir en la de tipo social y la de carácter físico. Sus montos están distribuidos según la clasificación de las ciudades y de acuerdo con la política de prestación de servicios regionales o estatales; al comparar dicha inversión con la distribución de la población que residía en esas localidades en 1980, es posible obtener indicadores de apoyo fuerte o débil para cada ciudad.References
