EL RÍO VERDE: AGUA PARA GUADALAJARA
Abstract
Los conglomerados humanos asentados en grandes metrópolis ejercen una creciente demanda de satisactores para su bienestar. Esta situación genera presiones sobre el entorno inmediato y, en ocasiones traspone sus propios intereses para obtenerlos.Los recursos naturales son la base material del desarrollo, por lo que la reducción y escasez de estos elementos generan una preocupación constante. De esta manera, las grandes áreas metropolitanas enfrentan constantes problemas financieros para proporcionar a sus pobladores los servicios básicos, principalmente agua, electricidad y drenaje.El problema de los servicios públicos no es nuevo, sin embargo, se agravó desde la década de los años ochenta, cuando la zona metropolitana de Guadalajara (ZMG) experimentó un acelerado crecimiento, desarrollado en buena medida al amparo de formas irregulares de urbanización.References
