LOS FONDOS DE PENSIONES EN EL AHORRO INTERNO Y LA ECONOMÍA DE MÉXICO. EL CASO DE CHILE COMO ANTECEDENTE
Abstract
En este artículo se presentan algunas notas para el análisis de los fondos de inversión y su importancia para la economía nacional. En sus inicios, de ser pública su operación y administración, los sistemas de seguridad pública de América Latina han transitado paulatinamente hacia sistemas de fondos de retiro privados. Con el fin de conocer -y debatir- la oportunidad y conveniencia de la reciente creación en México de Administradoras de Fondos de Retiro (AFORES), es necesario partir de algunas consideraciones y conceptos de los casos cercanos y, sobre todo, recientes de este tipo de experiencias en otros países latinoamericanos.Argentina, Chile, Uruguay y Perú fueron los primeros países de América Latina en crear, a principios del siglo XIX, regímenes de pensión; con el tiempo, el resto de las naciones de la región se dieron a la tarea de crear sistemas de protección social.References
