EL DERRUMBE DE LAS BOLSAS DE VALORES Y EL FINANCIAMIENTO DE LAS EMPRESAS
Abstract
Durante el pasado mes de octubre de 1997 se presentó el llamado ciclón o terremoto bursátil asiático, iniciado al parecer en la plaza de Hong Kong. Desde ahí, el fenómeno pareció, como por contagio, expandirse hacia el resto de las plazas bursátiles de Asia, luego a Europa y finalmente al hemisferio occidental. México y el resto de las economías emergentes latinoamericanas no fueron excepciones sino que padecieron, especialmente en la jornada del 27 de ese mes, “lunes negro”, caídas notorias en sus respectivos índices de precios y cotizaciones de las acciones, así como descalabros de mayor o menor cuantía en la paridad de sus respectivas monedas; esto último por el efecto consiguiente de que los inversionistas, supuestamente extranjeros, buscaban afanosamente convertir sus fondos líquidos en dólares, obtenidos tras haber vendido sus carteras de acciones; y de ahí el consiguiente “desaire” que resultaba para la moneda nacional de cada uno de los países hoy llamados emergentes.Those authors who have publications with this magazine accept the following terms:
