CONVERSACIÓN CON OSVALDO SUNKEL
Abstract
Osvaldo Sunkel, chileno, nació en 1929 en Puerto Mont, en el sur del continente americano, donde Chile se deshace en pequeñas islas. Sunkel comunica sus ideas en cinco lenguas. En casa aprendió español y alemán, en la escuela secundaria el francés, y en su andar por el mundo, inglés y portugués.Su trayectoria intelectual cubre medio siglo de reflexión sobre el desarrollo de América Latina. Cuando fue estudiante de economía y administración en la Universidad Nacional de Chile, Sunkel conoció a los fundadores de la CEPAL y pronto se integró a este grupo de actores-pensadores latinoamericanos. Sus escritos son parte del origen y evolución de la escuela estructuralista de la CEPAL.Los principales temas que han preocupado a Sunkel son la inflación, el desarrollo latinoamericano y el medio ambiente. Entre sus libros destacan El subdesarrollo latinoamericano y la teoría del desarrollo(con Pedro Paz, 1970), Estilos de desarrollo y medio ambiente en la América Latina(selección de lecturas con Nicolo Gligo, 1980).References
