Socio-spatial stratification in the city of Aguascalientes in 1990, 2000 and 2010
Abstract
This article presents a theoretical and methodological proposal to build, analyze and compare social strata in the city of Aguascalientes in 1990, 2000 and 2010. It proposes a methodology focused on the characteristics of the houses and performs a spatial analysis on two demographic-territorial scales: Basic Geostatistical Areas (AGEB) and urban blocks. It aims to operationalize the concept of the Social Division of Space through the statistical technique of Cluster Analysis to obtain six social strata. Bourdieu takes up the concept of social space, where the different forms that people's capital acquires and transforms generates a class model. The georeferencing of the strata allows us to identify their spatial distribution in the city during the years of study and to observe the trend of social and physical separation in the city of Aguascalientes.References
