Ecofeminism and development. The case of the cooperative “Camaleonas” in Alfajayucan, Hidalgo
Abstract
The objective of this article is to discuss ecofeminism and development, based on the case study of the indigenous women's cooperative "Camaleonas", located in Los Angeles, municipality of Alfajayucan in the state of Hidalgo. The cooperative is based on the cultivation and sale of cacti and succulents. The analysis proposed is qualitative by means of semi-structured interviews with its members, from which it was possible to reflect on the incidence of the women in the group in the local development of the community, as well as in the organizational challenges that transcend and constitute their own development process. The "Camaleonas" have been shaping from their cosmovision an alternative of subsistence from the local level in the region, taking advantage of the potential of their territory and establishing links between the inhabitants, as well as with the institutions.References
