Abstract
Es difícil definir lo que sería una ciudad media. EL volumen poblacional juega un papel importante para determinar si un conglomerado humano puede ser considerado como ciudad. Una ciudad medía o gran ciudad superaría los 100 mil habitantes, y una ciudad menor estaría en el rango de 20 a 100 mil. Además, este criterio lleva consigo otros, tales como la funcionalidad política, religiosa y, sobre todo, económica.Ciudades que a nivel nacional se catalogarían como menores, a nivel de región, se consideran como medias por representar precisamente el punto medio entre una gran ciudad y la multitud de localidades muy pequeñas.References
