DEVALUACIÓN Y MIGRACIÓN DE MÉXICO HACIA ESTADOS UNIDOS

Abstract

Una de las consecuencias probables de la reciente de­valuación del peso mexicano será, durante 1995, un incre­mento de los flujos de mi­grantes mexicanos hacia Es­tados Unidos, después de varios años (1991-1994) ca­racterizados por una tenden­cia orientada a la reducción progresiva de dichos flujos.Para apoyar la afirmación anterior se utilizan los datos de una encuesta hecha en una muestra representativa de personas con experiencia migratoria hacia Estados Uni­dos en las ciudades de Lagos de Moreno, Tepatitlán, San Juan de los Lagos y Ciudad Guzmán, levantada en 1993 por el Instituto de Estudios Económicos y Regionales de la Universidad de Guadalaja­ra y el Instituto Francés de Investigación Científica para el Desarrollo en Cooperación.
