EXPORTACIONES HORTOFRUTICOLAS MEXICANAS, ¿DINAMISMO O ESPEJISMO?

Abstract

La modernización que ha emprendido México en sus sectores productivos se basa en la reorientación de la economía nacional hacia un modelo de desarro­llo enfocado al mercado exterior. En 1986, como par­te de ese esfuerzo para reorientar su economía, Méxi­co firmó el protocolo de adhesión al Acuerdo General de Aranceles Aduaneros y Comercio (GATT); con ello, modificó radicalmente su política comercial y se comprometió a eliminar permisos previos de impor­tación y reducir aranceles. Bajo este criterio, se ha dis­minuido la protección arancelaria promedio de la eco­nomía mexicana, de 16.4 por ciento en 1982 a 9.5 por ciento en 1989.
