MIGRACIÓN DE JALISCIENSES A ESTADOS UNIDOS. ANÁLISIS DE LAS RECOMENDACIONES PARA SU REORIENTACIÓN
Abstract
En julio de 1987, en el congreso de Estados Unidos, se iniciaron las actividades de la Comisión para el Estudio de la Migración Internacional y el Desarrollo Económico Cooperativo, la cual constituía una parte fundamental de la nueva política inmigratoria que se estaba implementando en ese país. Dicha Comisión se encargaría de estudiar y analizar las causas de la inmigración indocumentada y la búsqueda de posibles soluciones al problema. La Comisión estaba formada por doce miembros representantes de diversos sectores sociales y políticos de Estados Unidos, y su objetivo específico era, en consulta con los gobiernos de México y otros países expulsores de emigrantes del hemisferio occidental, examinar las condiciones en México y en otros países expulsores que contribuyen a la inmigración indocumentada a Estados Unidos y explorar programas mutuamente beneficiosos de comercio e inversión para aliviar esas condiciones.References
