POSIBLES EFECTOS EN EL CAMPO JALISCIENSE DEL TRATADO DE LIBRE COMERCIO CON ESTADOS UNIDOS Y CANADÁ
Abstract
En la economía del estado de Jalisco el sector agropecuario tiene considerable importancia porque directamente genera el 12.6 por ciento del producto interno bruto (PIB) y el 21.3 por ciento si se suma con la agroindustria; asimismo, por los efectos multiplicadores que tiene sobre la industria, el comercio y los servicios: así como por generar la cuarta parte de los empleos en el estado.Por tal razón, los términos en que se inserte al sector agropecuario en el Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) México-Estados Unidos-Canadá impactarán fuertemente la actividad económica de Jalisco. A su vez, las repercusiones que el eventual tratado provoque en el agro Jalisciense, determinarán de manera relevante el volumen agregado del suministro interno de alimentos en México, puesto que Jalisco aporta, en números redondos, el 10 por ciento del valor de la producción agropecuaria nacional.References
