PERSPECTIVAS DE LOS PRODUCTORES DE MAIZ EN JALISCO
Abstract
Más del 80 por ciento de la superficie agrícola de Jalisco es de temporal y 68 por ciento (760 mil hectáreas) del total de las tierras agrícolas se ocupan en la producción de maíz. Aunque los rendimientos por hectárea de dicho cultivo en promedio son 2.5 toneladas, éstos difieren notablemente de una región a otra. Mientras que en la región Guadalajara se lograron rendimientos promedio de 3.3 toneladas por hectárea (ciclo primavera/verano 1988), en la región Lagos apenas se alcanzaron 1.2 toneladas. Circunstancias de carácter físico-geográfico, así como de tipo económico (precios externos, elevación de costos agrícolas, altas tasas de interés y bajos precios de garantía), han incidido directamente en el deterioro general de la agricultura básica del es Lado; ello principalmente sobre las utilidades, la superficie cultivable y los volúmenes de producción del maíz.Those authors who have publications with this magazine accept the following terms:
