CRITERIOS ECONÓMICOS Y POLÍTICAS DE RENOVACIÓN URBANA EN LA PLAZA TAPATÍA
Abstract
Uno de los problemas más agudos que aquejan a las grandes ciudades, como Guadalajara, es el deterioro de su zona central. Este hecho se refleja en el pobre desempeño de sus actividades comerciales y en la salida de los grupos de mayores ingresos hacia los nuevos suburbios. La gravedad de esta situación ha despertado el interés por adoptar políticas urbanas para revitalizar el centro histórico con proyectos que le permitan recuperar su primacía en la economía de la ciudad.En el caso de Guadalajara, las políticas instrumentadas no han alcanzado el éxito esperado. El mejor ejemplo de lo anterior es el proyecto de la Plaza Tapatía, que se construyó en la década de los ochenta y no ha podido consolidarse como espacio urbano atractivo y dinámico.References
