Abstract

Los programas de ajuste estructural y estabilización económica, apegados a las recetas preconizadas por el FMI y el Banco Mundial y aplicados con ejemplar perseverancia por el gobierno desde 1983 hasta el presente, han significado una verdadera revolución en las relaciones económicas y sociales que habían caracterizado al desarrollo mexicano durante los cincuenta años previos. Porque si bien es cierto que la economía nacional a partir de 1990 ha sido menos dependiente de las exportaciones de petróleo, pues actualmente sólo representa un 10 por ciento de los ingresos totales de las mismas, siguen siendo uno de los componentes más importantes de los ingresos federales.
