DETERMINANTES MACROECONÓMICAS DE LA MIGRACIÓN A ESTADOS UNIDOS
Abstract
Los rubros más dinámicos de la economía mexicanadurante los últimos años han sido la exportación de trabajadores a Estados Unidos y la industria maquiladora, la cual es otra forma de exportación de mano de obra, en este caso a empresas de este lado de la frontera.Su crecimiento ha sido en verdad explosivo: los ingresos remitidos a México por los trabajadores mexicanos saltaron de 1 072 millones de dólares en 1982 a 4 508.5 millones de dólares en 1996; es decir, un dramático incremento de 420.6 por ciento, mientras que el producto interno bruto sólo creció 19.6 por ciento durante esos catorce años. En el otro rubro, los ingresos de divisasque deja en México la industria maquiladora -básicamente salarios de los trabajadores- crecieron 753 por ciento durante ese lapso, al saltar de 852 millones de dólares en 1982 a 6 415.6 millones de dólares en 1996.Those authors who have publications with this magazine accept the following terms:
